On 21 September, the Marcel Benoist Foundation and the Latsis Foundation will announce the winners of this year’s Marcel Benoist Swiss Science Prize and National Latsis Prize at a media event in Bern.
This year’s award ceremony is a particularly special occasion for the Marcel Benoist Foundation as it will be honouring an outstanding figure from the field of research for the 100th time. It has awarded the Marcel Benoist Swiss Science Prize for studies or research of particular relevance to human life since 1920. This year’s prizewinner will be drawn from the fields of biology and medicine.
The Latsis Foundation recognises outstanding work by young researchers. It has awarded the National Latsis Prize to excellent scientists under the age of 40 since 1983. This year’s prizewinner will be drawn from the mathematics, science and engineering division. The official joint award ceremony of the Swiss science prizes will then take place at Bern’s Town Hall on 4 November.
